A number of members have expressed interest in assisting the MGS with public relations – related activities, ie, training, events planning and working with the managers of parks and state forest areas.

The MGS Core would like to enlist the ‘eyes and ears’ of members, as a committee, at county and regional levels for identifying, planning, and assisting with training and outreach activities. These members would also be alert to opportunities for positive interaction with the media.

To date, the Society has made numerous presentations to church, scouting, educational and civic groups in addition to having booths at outdoor expos. These enconters include a Power Point presentation followed by field exercises – finding caches already present or pre-placed for the exercise. Hard copy brochures about the MGS are also available for distribution.

In addition to the usual MGS events (CAM 2007, Spring & Fall Picnics), the New Year presents us with a number of exciting events and opportunities. MGS, one of the oldest caching groups in the country, celebrates its’ 5th anniversary this year. We are scheduled for training seminars with cadets at Ft. Detrick and students at Johns Hopkins. We have been invited to provide interactive training for the 200th Anniversary of the Congressional Cemetary in Washington D.C.
