Hello all, this is just a reminder that when placing a geocache on private property, please make every effort to coordinate with both the land owner and any other interested parties (i.e. employees of a business). Urban micros have grown significantly in popularity as the sport has expanded; however, the placement of these types of geocaches can be somewhat tricky, especially for the new hider. Always consider your fellow geocachers who will be there looking, primarily for their safety, but also for public awareness and conspicuousness. As most of you know, there have been many instances of geocachers being approached by authorities and it’s often the one seeking the geocache who would end up in trouble. While the MGS does not dictate the specific hiding methods of geocachers, we highly recommend taking these things into account so that we may all continue to enjoy geocaching throughout the state.
