In the 9 months of my geocaching experience, I have found some frustration in rolling micro logs. I think I've found a solution.

1. Get a long bobby pin.
2. Remove plastic tips.
3. Straighten bent tip.
4. Take into the field to roll logsheets.

Have you tried hair pins rather than bobby pins?

I was looking to provided tweezers (log removers) in caches on my icc trail when my wife suggested hair pins. Very inexpensive. Last weekend I went to a beauty supply place and they had lots of bobby pins and hair pins. After experimenting the boxes marked hair pins seemed to work best in my trial.

For less than $10, I picked up a Can of Plasti Dip, a bag of wooden spools and some cotter pins. I thread the spool with the pin and then put a dab of glue to hold it. Then I dip the end in the Plasti Dip. I've made over 50 to give away as FTF gifts or to other cachers. I still have over a half of can of Plasti Dip.

Does this really save time, or just the super annoyance of having to do it?

I have one of the micro cache rollers and it is very nice when I have a completely unrolled log. It is faster and gets a log perfect size. Note while that is true I often don't get it out if my bag so it can't be that big a difference or I would use it all the time.

I do use it when I am rolling lots of them as I prep them for hidding and maintenance
