Can CAM be a Mega

A lot of people asked this weekend, "Is CAM is getting big enough to be a Mega?"

My best answer is Yes and No.

Yes
- My best guess for number of people through the day was close to 300-350. So within a couple of years it will be well the over 500 person required to be a Mega

No
- The way we handle CAM does not fit the mold of a Mega event
- The fact that you have to find 10 caches to get the coords would not work for people traveling from afar. People just do not have that amount of time.

In the end, I think the answer will be, "CAM can not be a Mega"

However, with the growth of our Summer Picnic, we are approaching Mega status there as well.

Geocaching Hampton Roads (GCHR) was close to Mega and started an advertising campaign to get the push they needed to go over the top for their 10th Anniversary. This year will be the 3rd installment of being a Mega.

Reminder: While having a local Mega sounds good, it will be a lot of work.
