August 2013 "Caching Kids" Spotlight - ZombieIz & ZombieLena
It is a true pleasure to introduce Izzy & Lena, the Zombie Girls in our August Caching Kids Spotlight! I have had the opportunity to cache with the girls several times and they are awesome! We had a fun time doing the WV Cave cache together and they both were troopers scooting all through the cave! They also host a great Easter event!
Say hello to Izzy & Lena!!
First Name: Izzy, 6th grade and Angelina, 4th grade
1. What is your geo-name or do you share a geo-name with your family?
Izzy = ZombieIz
Lena = ZombieLena
2. What is your favorite thing about geocaching?
Izzy: I can go on a million adventures and none of them are the same.
Lena: Hiking and having fun with my family.
3. Do you tell your friends about geocaching?
Izzy: Yes
Lena: Yes and now my friend caches with us
4. If so, what do they think?
Izzy: They think that it’s interesting game to play and most of them have never done it before.
Lena: They all love it. It’s always a good time.
5. Have you ever taken your friends geocaching with you?
Izzy: Yes
Lena: Yes. We have brought friends to events also for fun.
6. What types of caches do you like to find?
Izzy: Ones in caves.
Lena: Ones that are fun to hike to and are not too hard to find.
7. Of all the caches you have found, do you have a favorite?
Izzy: Yes.
Lena: The Moonpies put a cool one out for us where the cache was hidden in a tub of goo. There was a snake wrapped around the cache container when we got there so we had to chase it away with a stick.
8. Have you hidden or helped hide a geocache?
Izzy: Yes, I even hosted an event.
Lena: I have helped my dad hide tons of caches but I now have a few caches hidden by me on my own account.
9. Do you like going for long hikes or adventurous types of caches?
Izzy: Adventures are awesome.
Lena: Adventurous types.
10. What has been your most adventurous or fun cache find?
Izzy: Cave in West Virginia was awesome.
Lena: We just finished the Domino Principal and got to hike through storm drains in the dark.
11. What is your favorite type of swag to find in a cache?
Izzy: Bracelets and rings.
Lena: Rubber Erasers and sunglasses.
12. What type of GPS do you use?
Izzy & Lena: Magellan Explorist GC
13. If you could add a new feature or technology to geocaching, what would it be?
Izzy: That you could put geocaches in video games.
Lena: A way to add video games to geocaching
14. Do you like going to geocaching events?
Izzy& Lena: YES
15. If so, what was your favorite geo-event and what made it so much fun?
Izzy: World Wide Flash mob day. I was the first time I met other kids who geocaches.
Lena: The CAM picnic because I got to see my friends
16. What type of games do you like at geo-events?
Izzy: 9 square
Lena: Cornhole
17. Do you participate in other activities or sports?
Izzy & Lena: Yes.
18. Outside of school, what other types of hobbies do you enjoy?
Izzy: I enjoy hiking, kneeboards, skiing and swimming
Lena: Swimming and knee boarding.
19. What suggestions do you have for cache hides, hiders, events, or event games?
Izzy: For hiders – get creative! For events – more kid games.
Lena: Have fun and enjoy exploring the world!
20. What is your favorite subject in school?
Izzy: Science.
Lena: Art.
21. What would you like to be when you grow up?
Izzy: A mad scientist

Great write up. Wish we were closer together so the Princesses and Zombies could cache together (other than the one meetup at the 100th Zombie cache). They sometimes think that other than them, only boys geocache.

We always enjoy running into the two of you - me just seeing you mrs moonpie actually running over you!! Enjoyed reading your answers and it makes us have to put on the thinking caps again and see if we can put out another kid cache - one that will last this time.
