MGS 10th Anniversary Geocoins Have Arrived!

Post by lpyankeefan »

MGS 10th Anniversary Geocoins have arrived!

They are available in either a black nickel/nickel two tone plating and also a gold/black nickel two tone plating. :D

Coins will be available for purchase from the officers at upcoming events for the low, low price of only $10.00 each. All proceeds from the sale of these coins will go directly to support the Maryland Geocaching Society.

Will these (and/or) the pathtags be available at the "Meet & Greet & Eat - A Social Thing!" tomorrow? If so, I better be sure to grab some cache, errr... cash before I leave the house.

Speaking of which, will you be there, lpyankeefan? I'll be sure to bring some of my pathtags that you have been asking about!

I agree. I had to limit myself to one coin, so got the gold, since the pathtags were gray scale. But they all looked great!

I picked up two of these lovely coins (one of each) yesterday at the holiday event. I'm planing on placing the gold one as an FTF prize and keep the black one. That said, I'm getting a 'trackable does not exist in the system' when I try to retrieve the activation code for it (FWIW, the gold one seems to be good to go). The code is small, but not unreadable and I KNOW I'm typing it in correctly. Has anyone run into this, just curious? I feel like a total n00b... :brick:

FYI, I sent an email off to the manufacturer with the issue and got this...

FWIW, I was able to get the correct code for my coin -which is going into my personal collection anyway so it's not a big deal- but I wanted to let TPTB know that there may be one more defect/collectors item in the mix waiting to appear...

Many THANKS to CalvertCachers for bringing some of the black ones to my 12-12-12 event! I was able to get a couple... and I was going to turn one loose, but reallllllllllly like VinceHaytors idea about putting one out for FTF, so I think I'll do that instead! Sure wish I could have gotten one of those gold ones... SHINY!!!

Hi there,

I have NO gold coins left in the coins that I currently possess. I'm not sure about CalvertCachers, WVKiwi or Corfmania. The gold coins that I had went very quickly.

Larry had given me 30 of the black coins (no gold coins) at the holiday event and I have 7 left. Please let me know if you want one and I can hold it for you.

Is there any chance the MGS will order more gold coins?

I would have to say right now it's probably unlikely unless the demand should possibly warrant another order.

I'd be interested in a coin if there are any left. Would be willing to send a check and a SASE for shipping.

Make that 2-3 coins. Color doesn't matter. Co-worker (TeamWoodsEdge) would like one too.
