As many of you may already be aware, Denise (humphr1d), our Public Relations Officer, was injured in a bicycling accident this past August and his been suffering complications from it ever since, including a recent hospitalization. Regrettably, Denise has made the difficult decision to step down as PR Officer in order to focus on the recovery of her health and her return to work. While this is disappointing news, it does not come as a surprise. Denise has endured a surfeit of hardship since her accident, and it would be unsympathetic to expect her to complete her term as officer. As I've already expressed to Denise, we remain grateful for her contributions to the MGS these past 10 months, and we wish her only the best as she moves forward in repairing her health and career. Thank you, Denise!
After reviewing Article XI, Section 9 of the MGS Bylaws and conferring with the MGS Officers and Board of Directors, the decision has been made not to elect a successor at this time. Since we are so near the end of the term, we think it simplest for the four remaining officers to share the PR duties for the balance of the year. The members of the Board have kindly offered their services if required.
