What are your "Must Stop" places during CAM?
What places do you find yourself visiting each year on CAM?
For the boys and I, they are breakfast at Denny's in Frostburg, ice cream (frozen custard) at Queen City Creamery in Cumberland, a hotel stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge (hey, the pool and jacuzzi are open until 11 pm!) and ordering delivery from the "Palace."
So, what are your traditional stops during CAM? Anything others might like to make a stop for?

I'll second the Queen City Creamery nomination for "Must Stop" places.
Apparently MeatballMatt feels the same way. He was on a Boy Scout trip last May. They went white water rafting on the Youghiogheny. On the way home, he convinced the driver and the other guys in the car to detour to QCC for lunch & ice cream!

Also, I like the wedgies at Fox's Den. We've eaten at the Fox's Den in Oakland. I know there are others, and this year I'll be taking a list of locations!

Re: What are your "Must Stop" places during CAM?
It's a toss-up between QCC and Curtis' in Cumberland....
Curtis' has some mighty awesome coney island dogs and rootbeer floats, and last year, we stopped in there for lunch and realized that my niece and nephew were the SEVENTH generation on my mom's side of the family to eat there!!! It's not too far from QCC, too. (15 North Liberty Street, Cumberland, MD)
Since I'm living in PA now, I'd hafta say any Cluck-U Chicken in the area that we're at, due to their ATOMIC wings - (I just saw on the Travel Channel earlier this week a segment on Cluck-U !! They have 'the hottest hot wings' - it used to be the 9-1-1 sauce, but now there's one even HOTTER.) Gotta make a point to hit one up this year.... Any CAM caches going to be in the Glen Burnie, Towson, Ft. Meade, or College Park area???

I like the Sonics in Easton and Salisbury, as well as the one in Bridgeville, DE. I love their ice. But with my recent self imposed ban on styrofoam - I have to either hope they will use my cup I bring or drive on to another place. Same goes with Chick-fil-a's.

Capriotti's is a mandatory stop whenever I'm on Kent Island, or in Elkton.

Our Must stop is Sonic on the eastern shore.
We always hit the eastern shore on opening day and we usually try to navigate to and from CAM caches with sonic somewhere for lunch or dinner.
On a side note, we also plan on hitting some of the delorme pages for DBzdude that he needs.

Yeah, Delorme pages is a must for us too. We only have a few left. We are hoping to do CAM. I know I will be on deployment in March. No solid dates yet, though.

Re: What are your "Must Stop" places during CAM?
We like Queen City Creamery but it isn't a must stop.
Our only must do thing is that we use the CAM as our first camping opportunity of the year. Since George is a teacher we go to western MD during Spring Break. Last year Spring Break was early so we were at Big Run the weekend of April 2nd which was a beautiful weekend. It is hard to find a campground open that early most will open 15 April.
This year Spring Break begins 16 April so we will head west sometime that week for a few days.

Apparently a must stop for me is the Comfort Inn in Deep Creek since I'm here now and Ive stayed here every year I've done CAM.

Wow! There's a little over two weeks until CAM starts, and you're already set up to get a jump on Western MD! That's dedication.

Too bad they don't allow pets. There's a place in nearby Frostburg called Savage River Lodge if anyone needs a place that's dog friendly.EagleBlazer wrote: Apparently a must stop for me is the Comfort Inn in Deep Creek since I'm here now and Ive stayed here every year I've done CAM.

Re: What are your "Must Stop" places during CAM?
I heeded the advice to stop at Queen City Creamery while returning from the Western MD portion of CAM; the Jr. Assistant #4 and I were in agreement that it was definitely worth the stop.
Thanks for the suggestion!

The Sonic either in Easton or Salisbury or Bridgeville, DE (I know, I know, it's in DE, but invariably I end up heading thru DE to get to the far reaches of MD).
Just do it!
