As the temperatures begin to fall and everyone begins to search for their jackets in the back of the closet, it marks the beginning of the annual holiday season. The MGS will be celebrating the holiday season with it’s Maryland Geocaching Society Holiday Swap/Potluck event, the last Society event of the year. It will be held on Saturday, December 4th and feature a potluck lunch followed by a unique spin on a gift exchange, all details can be found on the event page. Please come out and help spread some holiday cheer MGS style.

Come join the Maryland Geocaching Society in an effort to help improve the environment in which we enjoy our hobby of geocaching. The Maryland Geocaching Society CITO 2010 event will be held this year on October 30th at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We will be doing a park clean-up followed by a potluck lunch. We’ll have a few raffle items available that were donated by Magellan and other goodies that can be won in a special type of scavenger hunt. Additional information can also be found in the MGS Forums I hope to see everyone at the CITO!

maryland-geocaching-society-fall-picnic-2010

Fall is quickly approaching, changing leaves, milder temperatures and the annual Maryland Geocaching Society Fall Picnic. This year the picnic will be held on Saturday October 9th at Widmeyer Park in Hancock, Maryland. A huge thanks to all the folks in Hancock that welcomed us with open arms, one of the many relationships forged by participation in the MML Geotrail.

This years hosts will be none other than Snurt and LPYankeefan, two of our MGS Directors. I know they have other events planned around the Fall Picnic so watch the MGS Event Calendar and Forums for upcoming details. Hope to see everyone in Hancock!
