Summer is here and there are lots of caches to be found including 2 big event caches. One is a Mega event Geowoodstock 8 in Washington State on July 3rd not far from Groundspeak headquarters and the other is a local event the MGS Summer picnic right here in Md. at Rocks State Park on August 14th. This cacher will be at both so I hope to see you at one.

At the the summer picnic we will be handing out our annual MGS awards so get your nominations in. There will also be a silent auction to benefit the MGS. Lots of items such as geocoins, creative hide containers and more donated by our members will be up for grabs. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of nice stuff to be had so be ready.

As you walk through woods with your GPS in hand, have you ever wondered about the technology – its history, current uses and future possibilities? Visitors to the GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit opening this weekend at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore will have the opportunity to learn that and much more.
The GPS Adventures Maze is a traveling educational exhibit that was developed to teach people of all ages about navigation, GPS technology, and geocaching. It simulates geocaching by leading visitors through a 2500 sq.ft. maze filled with interactive science experiences. It is a unique caching experience with it’s own unique icon.
We invite everyone to join us at the Maryland Science Center on Saturday, February 20, 2010 10am – 1 pm for the GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit opening event. Be among the first to see the exhibition and meet members of Groundspeak, Trimble Navigation, and exhibit creator Minotaur Mazes.
The GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit will run from February 20 through April 18, 2010. For more information, please click on the links below.
