I want to thank everyone who was able participate in Cache Across Maryland 2016. We had a fantastic turnout and built some great relationships with the National Park Service! I want to also thank the National Park Service for allowing the Maryland Geocaching Society to have CAM hides and the picnic in their parks.
Our next scheduled event is the MGS Summer Picnic hosted at North Point State Park, Saturday July 30th at 10AM. The event page information can be found here. This event is key to the MGS raising funds through a silent auction and other various raffles for funding of our yearly events such as CAM, geocoins, operations, and events. The auction is donations by you, cachers and partners. Donations can be sent to our PR by messaging him through the forums or email. We hope to see you there and if you have any questions please post them on the forums.
On Saturday, June 4th, Piscataway Park will celebrate National Trails Day with a Paddle and Hike event from 9am–1pm. The Piscataway rangers asked whether the MGS might present an ‘Intro to Geocaching’ session during the event, and our own lpyankeefan has graciously offered to provide his time and expertise. He even agreed to deplete his weekly event allowance in order to host one of his Geocaching 101 events at the park from 10.30am–12.30pm (GC6JAXN). More information can be found here on the forums!
Lastly, if you have not heard the news of this forum topic please head over and give your vote. It is key to the future of Cache Across Maryland.
