I often see geocachers profiles with THOUSANDS of finds ... which Amazes me to no end. Especially since I only have 500 and I started 19 years ago. ( But I'm an on and off geocacher.... more off than on)... Anyway, I came upon a profile that has 49,000 finds in less than 16 years. That averages out to over 8 finds per day .... EVERY DAY FOR 16 YEARS !!!! how can that be possible?

Probably not, but comparing your find count to others, legitimate or not, only leads to madness. Best to just enjoy the journey you've had and will have to come.

Is it possible? Why wouldn't it be? Not sure why we would question someone with 49,000 finds. That would not get you in the top 100 in total finds. #1 right now is mondou2 with 231,411 finds as of yesterday (that's 30.9001 caches/day) He had 68 finds yesterday. He also has over 1700 hides.

More local, check out IMSpider, over 155,000 finds and has a streak of 5546 consecutive days with finds from 3/18/2007 to 5/23/2022.

For some people, geocaching is a way of life. Others try it once or twice and find something else to do. Do what makes you happy.
