As many of you know, I (Diamondback7) am a retired Soldier and have a couple geoart trails in the Bowie area honoring men and women who served our nation.

After publishing - https://coord.info/GC6973C - PFC Desmond Doss, Mel Gibson put the story to film -- Hacksaw Ridge. A decent retelling of this man's story. And no, I had nothing to do with getting Mel to look into the story.

That said, I later published - https://coord.info/GC7HG2K - SFC Alwyn Cashe. In my past and current jobs, I have managed a network and at every opportunity lobbied for this Soldier to get the Medal of Honor. His story can be heard here. His award recommendation has been reviewed before, but he never made the cut. This past week the Secretary of Defense re-looked the award submission and is now an advocate for the Medal of Honor

It is not official yet, and I'm not saying I was the guy to make it happen, but rather just one of many voices who believe in this hero.

And I believe it's going to happen this time.

Ooh Aah my brother. I wish there was an award for civilians who serve the Armed Forces as you obviously have.
