We were close by, just a different cache.

I seemed to be following GoGayle all day long. Most of the caches I hit - she was there before me. Would have been neat running into others while out there. Maybe they could have suggested a warm place between caches.

WTG Redlights; 400 in just under a year!! Quite an accomplishment. May your next 400 be as fun as your first. :groupwave

My 1000th Find (in Hawaii)

Post by ClueSeeker »

IF you haven't been to Hawaii for some caching you don't know what your missing. I finally hit the 1K on Oahu's Makapu'u's peaks (GCMA41: Creature Islands) :-D :-D :-D . It was tough returning to MD on Feb 10th (75deg to 18dec). If you're heading to Oahu give me a shout. I'll tell you what to expect. HI was my 39th state, and 1040+ finds since July. My wife want's to know if there is a wife's support group.

Kind of a bizarre milestone (but hey, we search for Tupperware in the woods with billion-dollar satellites...it works for me), but I hit 730 caches this past weekend! Why the odd number? I started caching two years ago, and that averages to a cache a day for the past two full years!! I blame my wife (not that she will ever admit this) for giving me a Garmin eTrex Vista C for Christmas in 2004. Two months later, on 26 Feb, 2005, I found my very first cache, the late, great "Walk Ye The Planks" (GCJ7DN) not 2/10ths of a mile from my back door! Already planning to do CAM 2007 next month and I'm signed up for Geowoodstock V in my home state of North Carolina in May. But it's NOT an obsession! See you all on the trails as I try to hit 1000 by the end of the year!

My 200th

Post by Manitto »

My wife thinks she made a mistake getting me a GPSr for Christmas. Though I would nab number 200 before the snowstorm. So many places so little time. I love discovering places that were in my backyard I didn't even know about. :D :D

No she doesn't I took her out and she don't mind the walking, but our first find together she say "I'm not sticking my hand in there". Plus she hates cold weather. :-D

Actually, I think that I am beginning to hate cold weather!
I agree with you about finding wonderful places in my own backyard. That was what charmed us about geocaching. Every time we go caching we find some place we never knew about and are delighted to explore.
Congrats on the 200! That's pretty impressive to find so many in the winter in such a short period of time!

Kudos to Manitto on reaching the #300 plateau (All 300 since Christmas). This milestone came yesterday at another plateau, <i>Caching at 1700"</i> at Cunningham Falls State Park in the company of Lpyankeefan, vyper4, fizzymagic from San Francisco and yours truly.

We salute your stamina! Well Done.
