I have a government mandated holiday coming up on Monday October 12th and was planning on ditching my bike this year to tackle the tough hides along the newly published ManBear Trail: ManBear Trail #1.

My plan is to get there around 8:00 and park in the parking lot at N 39° 21.105 W 076° 53.923. There's an additional parking location near the end of the trail at N 39° 21.022 W 076° 54.841, so we could have folks park at that end to keep us from having a long hike back.

I've already grabbed the first one in this trail, and I was lucky to find that one. I think we'll need several sets of eyes to increase our chances of finding them.

If you're interested in joining, please post your interest below.

How much of it are you planning on doing? I was eying that trail up as something to do with my kids over the holiday break (they're more than happy to climb trees for me), but it seems like there might be enough of the caches to split up over a few outings. I was also considering taking my mountain bike out there one day to hit a few of the non-climbing ones. Anyhow, keep me in the loop- I might join you for at least part of the time.

I'm around and would be interested in joining the group too. We'll see if I can bring my tree climber along with me. :)

Did some tree-climbing training in Germantown yesterday, so I think I'm in.

zumbido - I'm sorry, but I won't be able to join you yet again this year.

The plan is to do as much as we can. We'll start at ManBear Trail #1 and finish when we either run out of caches or cachers. If necessary, I was thinking of organizing a group to come back on Veteran's Day to finish it up.

We are tentatively interesting in joining the group on 12 Oct. Will know for sure as we get closer to the date. Probably the only way we could get some of these caches.

Id like to traipse along with you on the ManBear Trail. Safety in numbers. Having shed considerable blood seeking ProgKing placements, I’m hoping Soccertoa’s are kinder, gentler. I’ll be thinking, however, that I’m hiking with friends who won’t mind if I think of the outing as coming on Indigenous Peoples of the Americas Day.

Hoping to find a way to join this group for the adventure! Still negotiating the work time. A great opportunity, we have not been to the Park often.

Good to go! Chances are high for rain, almost a guarantee that it will be clear! Bringing rain suit anyway.

You are correct, the forecast is showing rain, but I will still be there. If any lurkers would like to join us, we are planning on meeting at the parking coordinates for Man Bear Trail #1 at N 39° 21.105 W 076° 53.923.

I am looking forward to a memorable day caching with everyone!
