The C3F continues to gather every third Tuesday

Post by zekester »

Bottom Line Up Front: Zekester & Simon are hosting a video teleconference in lieu of their monthly geocaching event, you are welcome to join, details below.

All interested parties are cordially invited to join the Carroll County Caching Fellowship at our 88th monthly meeting. We request that you RSVP at the Meetup site in the link that follows this paragraph, so we can have appropriate resources in place to support the gathering

RSVP here:

https://www.meetup.com/Carroll-County-C ... 269816953/

You'll have to sign up on Meetup in order to be able to RSVP. The event page (linked above) has the link to the online event.

Based on current resources, we expect the meeting to last about 40 minutes; if there is significant interest, we may expand the resources and lengthen the meeting. The primary means for us to know how much interest there is will be based on your RSVPs, so this is an important step. Expanding the resources comes with a price tag, so we'll wait and see how many of you are interested in participating before we spend the extra dough..

This meeting is a virtual meeting, a teleconference. That means you do not have to violate the Governor's orders, and you can stay at home and join the group. There is no physical face-to-face meeting associated with this event. You can join via audio only, or using both audio and video. In general, joining audio via the computer works better. Just a brief reminder, that if you join using video, that means PEOPLE WILL SEE YOU!

The meeting will be hosted on a platform called ZOOM. You may find it useful to view the tutorial on joining prior to the meeting, it can be found here:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articl ... -Tutorials

The invite to the Zoom meeting looks like this:

"Zeke Awozo is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: 3rd Tuesdays in Eldersburg April 2020 Edition
Time: Apr 21, 2020 06:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Join Zoom Meeting

Meeting ID: 744 822 693"

A couple of important notes:

This is not a geocaching event, as defined by Groundspeak. Groundspeak does not permit virtual events. You will not be able to log this event on any Groundspeak site, as it will not exist on any Groundspeak site. Groundspeak is not aware of and in no way endorses this even, although Groundspeak representatives are welcome to attend.

We will not be holding a raffle. We usually do when we meet in person, but since this is a virtual meeting, we have chosen not to take on that technical challenge at this time.

There will likely be a brief presentation of some sort by Zekester, as there usually is, but mostly we will have an open floor discussion on location based gaming. Again, it will be short, 40 minutes unless we see enough interest prior to to extend it.

Hope to see you there!
