Abby and I just spent Saturday night in Shad Landing. Except for park ranger drive-by, we had the place completely to ourselves. Probably going to be bit noisier on September 10!

What is the entry fee? Or is it waived since we are volunteering for cleanup on the park?

I'll confirm, but to my knowledge there has never been an entrance fee.

The MGS has reserved the Sassafras Camp Site on the Blue Heron Loop for the night before the CITO, September 9th, if you'd like to camp that night we are asking $15 per site payable to the MGS on September 9th. Links to more information about about the park can be found at the link below. Please post here if you plan on taking advantage of the camp site so we can have a rough idea of how many folks to expect.

The Sassafrass camping area that we reserved is for tents only!
(a bathhouse is located close to the Sassafrass area)
Cachers requiring a trailer site will need to make their own reservations.
Fortunately, many trailer sites are just a short walk to our reserved group tent area.

Re: 2011 MGS CITO
September is always a hard month for me to commit to events due to the fact it's the height of hurricane season. But if time/storms allow, I'll come out. Probably do some Kayaking while I'm out. I can also grab some of the caches I had to skip in grabbing some of the MML/Cam2011 caches on very limited time last month. It'll also be cool to get folks out that way...as I have it's a great area for a future GW or GBash for the mid-atlantic.

Really looking forward to camping out. So far we're at 3 but no sure if the wife can make it or not, she has something scheduled that weekend with her sister. Now, I just need to buy a tent

Re: 2011 MGS CITO
Does anyone know if the camp site has electrical outlets? I was thinking about bringing my big screen TV....
Just kidding, it's for my griddle so I can cook pancakes for everyone on Saturday.
I was thinking about hosting a breakfast event for those who arrive early and/or spend the night. I'd just need to know how many people would like to attend it or if it's worth doing it....
