For those interested in finally grabbing that elusive 366th day of the calendar, this coming February 29th is your next opportunity. Here's a list of local events (I've limited "local" to Maryland in this case). It is my hope that you'll help me keep this list up-to-date as further events are announced. Events are listed in the order that they occur throughout the day...Here we go:

0645-0715 http://coord.info/GC6AE7N Severna Park
0700-0730 http://coord.info/GC6A1E8 Frederick
0800-0830 http://coord.info/GC67B3H Gunpowder Fall State Park
1100-1130 http://coord.info/GC6A913 Columbia/Laurel
1200-1330 http://coord.info/GC69BTF Bowie
1500-1600 http://coord.info/GC6AGZ3 Laurel
1530-1800 http://coord.info/GC691YN Williamsport
1715-1745http://coord.info/GC69DM3 Frederick
1730-1830 http://coord.info/GC69C0W Germantown
1800-1830 http://coord.info/GC69CGA Arundel Mills
1800-2000http://coord.info/GC69EH1 Prince Frederick
1800-2000 http://coord.info/GC69FJZ California (yes Virginia, there is a California, Maryland!)
1830-2030 http://coord.info/GC69B5N Frederick
1900-2000 http://coord.info/GC6AGZM Brandywine
1930-2030 http://coord.info/GC6A3J9 Salisbury

Looks like it might be a little bit of a challenge to get them all, but no doubt someone will try....

List has been updated, and now includes the new APLCachers event at 1100 in Columbia/Laurel. Frederick event was already on the list.

Yes, it is. Friday! I'm hoping to put one out for February, too, but I'm not yet that organized.

Updated this morning with three new events.

I also encountered an amusing thread on the Groundspeak forums, linked below (link is without me signed in as a Premium member, so should be visible to all). Like many threads on their forums, there are trolls, and a poster is getting napalmed, but I encourage you to read through, as there are some discussions in the thread that are of interest. Here's what I think you might find appealing:

- discussion of event stacking (what that is, and a bit of churn about it).
- the fact that the leap day souvenir announcement was only released to Premium members and discussion about Groundspeak's intents in that regard.
- some interesting independent geographic analysis (including charts and graphs) regarding where leap day events are being held, their frequency and density.

Here's the link:
