CAM#2 03/16
The views along the drive to this cache were lovely. There are beautiful huge fields with cows. Driving over the long dirt road was fun, and the dust added a special atmosphere.
We arrived near to sunset. The gorgeous lighting along the trail made our hike quite memorable. The trees and vines on this trail are unusual and picturesque. It sort of felt like a fairy land. This was a very well placed and fun geocache.

Wednesday, March 20 - CAM Day 2
Living as far down the Shore as we do, a trip across the bay and back includes over four hours of driving just to get to the other side. With that in mind, and looking at our calendar, we decided to make a special trip here on a free afternoon to make future trips west more efficient. Our round trip here was just under six hours. Walking to Stage 1 we soon realized that we had walked this trail before (in 2006), hunting a cache hidden by the Keebler Elves. We easily found Stage 1 and then quickly found the final. It took us just about an hour to find this and the bonus cache and return to the GeoOutback with our second CAM cache logged. Thanks to MGS and the hider for bringing us back to this scenic place and thanks for the caches.

03/23/19 - Came here today after finding more older CAM caches. Two days ago I was playing in the pouring rain. Yesterday is was the brutal winds. Today, it was a little on the chilly side, but the sun was out, and things were looking good.

While working on the bonus cache, I also came after this one. Once again, geocaching brings me to a new park. No problem making the find here. Just wondering who keeps putting these phony thumbs in the caches with a note saying leave this for Georick402. NOT FUNNY.....or is it

march 17--CAM cache #1. I was out of town opening day, but I didn't want to miss opening weekend. Pegasusmoon and picked up Pyro1970 at 4:00 in the afternoon and boogie on out here! We just missed Fuzzy Dave but we ran into a couple of catchers in the parking lot! It was perfect! The sun was reflecting off the peaceful waters. We got the CAM and the bonus and one placed after the last CAM cache. Thanks for bringing us out here!

3/25/2019 After finishing the Algonquin Cross-County Trail CAM, we stopped for ice cream and enjoyed our sandwiches, but then we got back in gear and headed to this one. Enjoyed stage one of the bonus with several other cachers, including Ddubz1 and her caching buddy and weekendtrekkers then headed out on the tree lined trails toward our real goal. We had a lot of fun with this one, working together a lot. As usual, I enjoyed taking lots of photos of the scenic trees, the water and such. Glad to finally get out to a place I've only driven by before. TFTC!

Found March 30th, 2:15 PM CAM #9

We were on our final CAM run to the eastern shore to get our last two CAM caches. Today was an absolutely gorgeous spring day for caching. Temps were in the mid-seventies and the sun was out. Lots of people here in the park today enjoying the great weather. We ran into GR8Caches in the parking lot and would cross their paths later in the day.
Should have left the long sleeves in the car but we sweated our way out to the first stage which we found quickly and then headed to the final stage. On the way back to the parking you get a better view of the lines of trees along each side of the road, including the Osage orange trees.
We've been down to Wye before but this time we had a better appreciation for the Wye angus herd now owned by the University of Maryland Foundation. If you get a chance, google it.

Found 3/27/19 - I am sooooo behind with the logs. Love to cache, hate the paperwork! CAM on the weekdays usually leaves me with no one around to question my wanderings in the underbrush. The road in had been freshly graded. As in right in front of me! I guess this addresses the muddy pot holes, but, was tricky for the minivan. The hike in was lovely with the birds singing and flitting about the overhanging trees. Then the stretch of Sweet Gum trees was like walking on soft marbles! Boy, when it gets warmer, these briars will explode! Sorta bushwhacked on animal trails near the water. They were more for short animals that like their coats scratched by thorns! Cache was secure and log was dry. TFTC TFTH

We took advantage of the kids’ spring break to head to O.C. for a quick 3-day mini-vacation, stopping for a couple of CAM caches along the way. This was our second visit to Wye Island, the first being in 2014 just before CAM started that year. We missed out on the 2014 CAM hide, but did manage to score a find on GC4CC9 that day. We had the area to ourselves this afternoon. Nice, pleasant hike out to Drum Point, with just a little bit of mud on the trail after last night’s storms. The twisted trees lining the path were quite interesting. I wonder how they got like that? We missed the turn onto the Jack-in-the-Pulpit trail, and ended up following a rather overgrown path that ran along the water. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend going that way, but it got us to stage 1. The second stage was a short walk away, and another easy find. Both stages were in good condition. Great hike out to the point. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Jeanne and I planned a few days at the Broadkill Writers' Resort and came by here on the way. When we arrived mid-afternoon we were surprised to find 2 cars already at the parking area, one of which belonged to cachers, and we were soon joined by another car carrying mdsearcher.
Two cachers from PA were just returning from the caches here and after a brief conversation with them, Jeanne and I teamed up with mdsearcher to log this cache and the bonus.

Our time in this part of MD yesterday was a comedy of errors. I spent some time looking for the CAM Bonus cache stage 1, and pretty much gave up. As I walked back toward the trail, markbarb pulled in and we all started looking again. Eventually, Barbara resorted to a PAF, who explained the puzzle, and eventually also gave us the answer. We headed down the trail toward that cache and arrived at the CAM cache. What?

We took care of business at the CAM cache, made the decision that we were absolutely going to find the first stage, and Barbara called her PAF again. Oops!

We headed to stage 1, which was a pretty easy find, and decided that we did the stages out of order, but we wouldn’t have had any problem doing it in the right order.
