I think there was a group that went out for this recently but I'm hoping there are still other cachers who'd like to go since we weren't able to participate last time.

The only issue -- which is the issue I have with anything group-related -- is that I usually get my work schedule just one week before, maybe two weeks if I'm lucky. So unfortunately, I can't really organize anything more than week out from when we actually go.

Is anyone free over the coming weeks who'd like to do this? The best time would probably be a Saturday night.

And would anyone who's done this like to offer tips and advice?

That is a fun cache. I did it with a couple of buddies and our kids not to long ago. I'd go again for the hike and the fun. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see when you pick a date.

I'd go back up for a third time haha I went the first time on my own and then the second time with GeoBa here so why not one more? It's a nice walk and a great excuse to get out in the woods. I work night shift so I'm up until at least 4 every morning. I can't go Jan 2nd (Saturday) but anytime after that I'd be down to take the mountain torch for a walk.

This was a great cache all around. I did it during CAM with my wife and two kids, and we all had a blast. While I'm sure it would be fun to do with a large group, I think it's best experienced with just a few at a time. Do bring some kids if you can borrow or rent them, and don't get intimidated by the D/T; it is actually more like a 3/3.

this one has been on my watchlist since geowoodstock. did you have a date in mind? i was thinking about doing it on the first after the biohazard trail, cito and hello 2016 events. just trying to get as much in on that day because its a long drive from my house. ill keep an eye on the thread to.

We were thinking either Sat Jan 2 or Sat Jan 9. It starts to get dark around 5 so we figure we could start at 6 or 7, which will give us plenty of time to get there after I get off work.

If you're interested in going, please let us know if the 2nd or 9th works better for you and what time you'd be able to meet.

I'd be down for the 9th to tag along if you decide on that day. It's always good to meet new cachers and have something to do on Saturday night. GeoBa and I were talking about doing the new geo art thing in Frederick as well but I will be out of town the weekend of the 2nd.

You could probably even start around 5. Since you follow the directions at first, it should be dark by the time you get to where the tacks start.

Now that I think about it, there aren't any waypoints for parking but I do see a few parking lots on the map. Does anyone know the best place we should all park and meet?

The best place to park is the Hiker's parking Lot off of Rt 40. If you are going towards Hagerstown it will be on your left, before Rt 40 goes over I-70 and before the turn into Greenbrier State Park.
