The winners will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the MGS and be called up in front of their peers for much applause and congratulations for a job well done! 
The Categories are:
Geocacher of The Year – Which geocacher(s) from June of last year until now has been the most dynamic in the state of Maryland.
Geocacher Rookie of The Year – Which geocacher(s) have really jumped on the scene this year and served up notice to all of us that they embody all facets of caching and do it well. This must be a member who has joined since May of last year (ie. June – present).
Geocache Hider of the Year – Which geocacher has consistently put out great hides all year and maintained them well. You can consider many things when selecting a nominee for this category.
Best Cache Hide of the Year – Think about the one geocache in the borders of Maryland that either put a big smile on your face or earned your respect. Again, many aspects of a geocache can be considered for the nominees in this category.
Most Scenic Hide of the Year – What new Maryland hide put you in the spot that made you want to stay there for a long time and enjoy the view.
