Meanwhile, to satisfy your cravings for shiny metal disks, there are still a few bags of MGS ‘Hiker’ pathtags in stock on the GeocoinStore site. This was a reorder of a popular design from 2011. In order to purchase these tags, you’ll need to enter a password: mgs2011 (lowercase). Each bag of 20 costs $20 plus shipping, and the MGS receives a kickback donation from each purchase.
The 2017 MGS Summer Picnic in Carderock Park is only a month-and-a-day away! If you haven’t yet posted a will-attend, please visit the cache page to do so. You can sign up to volunteer and list your potluck food items in this thread. Aside from enjoying the company of fellow cachers, there’s plenty to do and see in the area. The Carderock virtual cache is a ¾-mile hike from the Picnic Area along the Billy Goat Trail, and Aquarius – another of Maryland’s virtuals – is only a 2-mile drive to parking and a 0.6-mile hike.
